BarMeli Restaurant Finds a New Home in MiMo District

BarMeli Restaurant Finds a New Home in MiMo District

Sep 12 2016

We were all shocked when Chef Michelle Bernstein’s Cena by Michy closed suddenly back in May. Following lease negotiation disputes, the Biscayne Blvd staple formerly known as Michy’s closed its doors after ten years.

Thankfully another neighborhood favorite will be taking over the space within the next few months. Liza Meli’s BarMeli, the Mediterranean tapas & wine bar, is currently a few blocks north of its future location. According to the Comras Company, BarMeli will continue to serve its signature Greek dishes and wide selection of exotic wines.

Helming the kitchen will be Chef Maykel Solis, a culinary school graduate of Cuba who previously worked with Liza at her previous concept Anise Taverna. The menu, which will remain unaltered as of now, includes Flaming Saganaki (Greek fried cheese) using kefalograviera, Keftedes (Greek meatballs) and baby lamb chops.

No opening dates have been released yet. Stay tuned for more details.
